msotomay@lmu.eduMaria-Pia Sotomayor is LCSLA's Administrative Assistant/Communications Coordinator. Prior to joining the Center's staff, she completed her B.A. in Sociology and minor in Economics at Loyola Marymount University. Maria-Pia's senior thesis, "Contemporary Attitudes in the United States on Immigration." was regarded as one of the best of the year because of its integration of secondary research and SPSS comparisons.
Due to her minor in Economics, she also has a background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Before joining the Center, Maria-Pia worked as a Research Assistant in the Los Angeles fashion industry for an executive recruitment firm. Her goal is to become a college professor teaching both Sociology and Ethnic Studies.
