Chris Zepeda-Millán is LCSLA’s Graduate Research Fellow, as well as a
Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Government at Cornell University,
where he has received a number of grants and fellowships, including a
LaFeber Research Grant, a Latino Studies Program Graduate Research
Grant, and a Provost Diversity Fellowship. He also recently received a
Ford Foundation Dissertation Fellowship.
His primary academic focus is on the politics of immigration, but on a
broader scale, Zepeda-Millán’s research interests include social
movements, labor, and race and ethnic politics. His dissertation
examines the development of the U.S. Immigrant Rights Movement and the
historic 2006 multi-ethnic/racial immigrant protest wave. He received
his B.A. from Loyola Marymount University with a double
major in Political Science and Chicana/o Studies.
