The University also offers the option of establishing a named scholarship. In creating such a scholarship you may define requirements for student recipients selected based on a wide variety of criteria. For example, you may choose to support undergraduate or graduate students, students in a particular school or college, those from a particular program, as well as those who have high academic merit or great financial need.

Named scholarships fall into three categories:

Named Annual Scholarship $5,000+

You may either create a new annual scholarship or contribute to an already existing one. Annual scholarships are not invested but instead are spent each academic year. By establishing this type of scholarship and renewing your contribution for at least five years, you will help the University maintain its available pool of financial aid and provide support our students can count on year after year.

Named Endowed Scholarship $100,000+

By establishing an endowed scholarship, which will be awarded based on annual distributions of approximately $5,000, you will not only strengthen the University’s overall endowment, but also provide sustained support for our students for generations to come. You will leave a lasting legacy at Loyola Marymount and will be recognized for your commitment to ensuring our students’ future success.

Named Annual Scholar: $50,000+  or  Named Endowed Scholar: $1,000,000+

The LMU Scholars Program provides full-ride scholarships for selected undergraduate students that cover tuition, room, board and assistance for summer enrichment activities. By establishing such a scholarship, you will support one student over his or her four years of attendance at LMU. An annual gift of $50,000 or more would cover a typical four year degree, while an endowment of $1,000,000 or more will sustain your scholarship and allow students to benefit from your generosity into the future.

Recognition

Once you establish a named scholarship you become part of the family of scholarship donors at the University. LMU is committed to recognizing these donors and their generosity to our students. You will receive an invitation each year to attend the Annual Scholarship Reception, an opportunity to meet your scholarship recipients. In addition, your scholarship will be listed in the on-line academic bulletin. Your students can also include the honor of receiving your scholarship in their resumes. In these and so many other ways, your support and encouragement of exceptional students will be recognized and the influence of your generosity will be made known.
