LionsFund Gift Policy

Gifts to LionsFund assist in providing the resources needed for LMU student-athletes to achieve the highest level of athletic and academic success. Focused on providing a well-rounded athletic and educational experience, LionsFund supports our student-athlete's quest for academic and competitive excellence through scholarship and team support. Scholarship assistance includes athletic grants in aid, summer school and fifth year programs, tutoring, and academic support. Team support provides the opportunity for recruitment of top athletes, special team travel, and equipment.

Each year, every sport at LMU depends on private support through LionsFund.

LionsFund/Booster Gifts:

Gift and pledge amounts under $100 and designated to a specific sport will be credited to that team’s booster club to provide funding over and above their annual budget:

Gift and pledge amounts of $100 or more which are designated to a specific sport will be credited accordingly:

• 50% will go to support the annual scholarship and program needs of that sport through LionsFund.
• 50% will go to the sport’s booster club to provide additional funds over and above the team’s annual budget.

Other Gifts:

Gifts made to special projects or for capital needs are not LionsFund gifts and not subject to the above guidelines. These projects are special one-time exceptions and require the prior personal approval of the Athletic Director. We ask that these be made in addition to your traditional annual LionsFund gift.
