Alum Remains Active Participant In LMU Life
“I think it’s an important thing to support your university if you got anything out of it,” says Robert Flaherty ’55, “and I got a lot out of it.”
To Robert Flaherty ’55 the commitment to LMU has indeed been lifelong. He attended LMU with the help of a football scholarship, and he was a founding member of the Alpha Delta Gamma fraternity. Flaherty has contributed since the early 1960s as a supporter of the Fr. Al Kilp Scholarship fund, athletics and his fraternity.
Now a member of the Golden Lions—members of the LMU community who celebrate 50 years as alumni—Flaherty sees giving to LMU as a habit. The consistency of his support, he explains, helps him remain a participant in LMU’s life.
