Q. I already work here, why should I give?
A. Participation is the key. The number of alumni, employees and friends supporting the university influences corporations and foundations that are considering major grants and gifts. Faculty and staff support also goes a long way to helping us be heard when we ask for legislative support.
Your contribution is a vote of confidence in LMU and its mission, and will lead the way to our future success.
Q. Can I specify where my contributions should go?
A. Absolutely! Your contribution can be designated to a variety of areas including scholarships, schools and colleges, departments,or programs, just to name a few. Your gift directly benefits the area you choose. Simply note your preference in the 'Special Instructions' section of the online gift form..
Q. Can I designate my gift to more than one area?
A. Sure! Clearly note how much you want to give to each area in the 'Special Instructions' section of the online gift form.
Q. I can only give a modest amount. How can that possibly make a difference?
A. All gifts are important! What is important is that you give, not necessarily the amount. The faculty and staff campaign exemplifies the collective power of the univeristy. With each person doing what he or she can, we all make a big difference.
Q. What if my spouse works for a matching gift company?
A. Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees. To find out if your spouse's company has a matching gift policy, please click here.
Q. What are my payment options?
A. You may give by check, credit card or payroll deduction.
Q. Is my gift tax deductible?
A. Yes! 100 percent of your gift is tax deductible.
Q. Where do campaign funds go?
A. All dollars raised at LMU are designated according to the donor’s wishes.
Q. What is payroll deduction?
A. Payroll deduction is a simple way for you to complete your gift to LMU over time through your paycheck. When you sign up for payroll deduction your gift will be automatically deducted from your paycheck for the amount and timeframe you stipulate.
Q. What if I am already a Presidential Donor?
A. Thank you. You will keep receiving your annual renewal from the Annual Giving Office. The choice is yours. You can renew your gift through your annual renewal or set up payroll deduction. Either way your gift, given in the fiscal year, counts towards the annual Faculty and Staff Campaign.
