The inaugural class of 15 inductees was selected during LMU’s 2011-2012 Centennial Year.  A committee of senior faculty members and LMU alumni solicited nominations from alumni as well as both active and retired faculty and staff members.  Nominees were required to the meet the following criteria:

  • The nominee must have retired as a full-time faculty member at least five years prior their nomination.  This requirement is waived if the faculty member is deceased.
  • The nominee must have taught full-time as a member of the university’s faculty for at least ten years.

After collecting over 200 nomination submissions for over 100 nominees, the committee selected the inaugural class and presented them to President David W. Burcham who approved the 15 inductees.

Future nominees will be solicited every other year by a university committee.  Each subsequent class of inductees will consist of approximately five faculty members who meet the same criteria as did the original inductees.  The next nominating period will be in the fall of 2013.
