Philosophy

This program has three purposes: to offer an exhibition opportunity for documentarians and their work in downtown Los Angeles, where few opportunities are available; to expose an audience to deep cultural, social and religious discourse through cinema; and to educate the community about documentary filmmaking as both an artistic and scholarly craft.

This program is built on the philosophy of volunteerism. Filmmakers and other guests do not receive financial compensation for their involvement. We do welcome donations, however, which helps to sustain this program in the community. Donations are shared between LMU, for expenses incurred by the program; Mount Saint Mary’s, for theater maintenance; and our featured filmmakers, for their time and dedication to meaningful, documentary filmmaking.

PROGRAM CALENDAR

The series is on hiatus for the the 2010-2011 academic year.  Please check back in the Summer of 2011.  Thank you.
