Featuring Islamic, Jewish, Protestant, and Roman Catholic perspectives on Dignitas Personae.

Wednesday, March 18, 2009
7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The Bioethics Institute invites you to the March 2009 Symposium featuring Islamic, Jewish, Protestant, and Roman Catholic perspectives on The Vatican Instruction on Bioethics: Dignitas Personae, "The Dignity of the Human Person."  A panel of theologians from the four tradutions will discuss a variety of issues, including Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research, Gene Therapy, Human Cloning, and Assisted Reproductive Technologies.

The Bioethics Institute develops and provides educational programs, research projects, clinical consultation and policy development services in the multidisciplinary field of bioethics. It draws principally upon the intellectual heritage of the Roman Catholic theological and philosophical tradition in the study of contemporary issues in bioethics.  Through the Master of Arts program, public lectures, and short courses for healthcare professionals, The Bioethics Institute serves three principal constituencies in the Los Angeles area: the academic community of Loyola Marymount University; healthcare professionals in the Los Angeles area; and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Learn more about the Institute online.
