How do I enroll in an LMU EXTENSION course?

You can register online, by phone, by FAX, by mail, or in person.
For detailed instructions, please CLICK HERE.

What if I have to drop a class?

If you need to withdraw from a class, please notify LMU EXTENSION in writing (by letter, FAX, or email). Informing your instructor is not sufficient notice. Failure to observe this policy could result in a grade of "F". Click here to
CONTACT LMU EXTENSION.

Can I obtain a refund of my tuition for dropped classes?

All requests for refunds, other than for classes cancelled by the University, must be received in writing (by letter, FAX, or email) prior to the first or only meeting of the course, or prior to the second meeting of a class lasting four or more weeks. Tuition refunds are available only in accordance with established University policy:

  • Before the first or only meeting of a class: 100%
  • Before the second meeting of a class lasting four or more weeks: 50%
  • Otherwise: 0%

How do I request a transcript?

To be in compliance with privacy laws designated by FERPA, transcripts can be ordered only in writing or through your PROWL account:

  • For instructions on opening your PROWL account go to How to Access Prowl below. Once you get into your account, go to view unofficial transcript first, to make sure the grades you are interested in transcripting have been posted. Then go back a page to order official transcript and complete the information requested. Your transcript will be sent in approximately two business days. There is no fee.

  • You may instead download and print a Transcript Request Form. Follow the instructions provided to mail or fax the form. This option may take up to two weeks to process. There is no fee.

  • If you are a local student and are in a hurry, you may come to the Registrar’s Office in St. Robert’s Hall and ask for a Transcript to be prepared while you wait for a $10.00 fee.

How do I access PROWL to view my schedule, grades and order transcripts?

PROWL is your personal records online.web link. Find PROWL on the LMU Extension homepage (go to extension.lmu.edu, and scroll down the blue left-hand margin to the PROWL log in.) Use your Student ID# (SID#) and your date of birth as your pin in this format: 00/00/00. The site will immediately ask you to update your pin. Choose six numbers only, as letters cannot be used in the pin. Your Student ID number was sent to you with your registration confirmation. If you did not save it, you must call the office at (310) 338-1971 or email us at extension@lmu.edu.

Where do I park for class?

Parking for LMU EXTENSION students is free. In order to enter or park on the campus, students must display in their vehicle a "Vehicle Registration Permit." Applications for permits are available at the first session of the class. Permits are not generally needed for one day or Saturday classes. Students attending one-day sessions may park in the visitors section of the "A" lot located near the 80th street entrance of the campus. Students taking classes in University Hall, One LMU Drive, (off Lincoln Blvd.) may park on levels 2 & 3 of the underground parking facility.

How do I obtain my Certificate for a Certificate Program?

In order to receive a Certificate, students must file, upon completion of the required number of courses, a Certificate Application Form. Students do not automatically receive the Certificate. To request this form, call 310.338.1971 or

What does it mean to "Audit" a course?

Students taking a course for audit are not expected to submit papers or other class work and receive no grade or credit for the course. Auditors merely observe the class. Regular attendance, however, is expected and in non-lecture courses participation is required.

What if I changed my name and/or address?

Please notify the Office of the Registrar, in writing, of any change of name and/or address. Listing the change on the enrollment form is not sufficient. You can also
CLICK HERE to download the appropriate form.
