Tuition refunds are available ONLY in accordance with established University policy: Before the first class: 100%; before the second meeting of a class lasting four or more weeks: 50%. Attendance Requirement and Academic Standards

Additionally, every student must maintain a letter grade of “B” or higher for each individual class to qualify for an LMU Extension-issued Certificate in Addiction Counseling.
Grade Appeal
Except in rare instances, only the instructor, in conjunction with the Department's Chairperson, Director, and Academic Vice President may change a final grade. To appeal a final grade the student must meet with the instructor to review the reasons for the grade, no later than three weeks into the semester following the issuance of a disputed grade. If the instructor/student discussion fails to resolve the dispute, the student may file a written appeal with Pat Ranftl, our Records and Registration Specialist, by email at pranftl@lmu.edu.
Class Observation in the Addiction Counseling Certificate Program
On a case by case basis, upon approval by the instructor, a number of introductory-level courses may be available for a single, one-day only classroom observation. Observers may not participate in course activities, and will receive no attendance credit for the course, except if the observer chooses to officially register for the class at the end of the “observation day.”
