Cultural Excursions
A series of exciting cultural excursions are provided as part of the course schedule. Students are required to attend all planned activities.
Epidauros: The theater at Epidauros, with its famous acoustics and the nearby Sanctuary of Asclepius -- the celebrated healing center of the ancient world -- are two of the most-visited sites in Greece.
Nauplio: The first capital of modern Greece is just the right size to be explored on foot. It has a wonderful town square that has changed very little in the last few hundred years.
Olympia: Olympia is the birthplace of the Olympic Games. Visitors can see the ancient stadium and a museum.
Peloponnese: Throughout the Peloponnese the students will visit archaeological sites dating back to the Early Helladic, Mycenaean, Classical, Roman and Byzantine periods. The program will also schedule a daylong visit to one or two other islands near Spetses. Should time and traveling schedules permit, students may visit other sites.
Delphi: The ancient shrine whose religious and moral influence radiated throughout the ancient Greek world for almost 1,500 years. The ancient theater, stadium and the ruins of the Temple of Apollo are among the awe-inspiring monuments that can be seen today.
