Cultural Excursions

NEP Students

The AIB organizes several day excursions such as a Rhine cruise and visits to Cologne and the Eifel region, and two multiday excursions described below.  In addition, there is ample opportunity for students to travel on their own.

Madrid
and Barcelona -- In spring, students enjoy a multiday excursion to the Spanish cities Madrid and Barcelona. Famous for its Prado and Reina Sofia museums as well as its fútbol teams, Madrid is one of the most important capitals in Europe. Barcelona is the heart of the Catalonia region, the birthplace of artists like Dalí, Gaudí and Picasso. The city, Spain’s second largest, is one of the world’s leading cultural and design centers.

Paris
and Belgium -- In fall, students enjoy a multiday visit to the romantic city of Paris, famous for its elegant shops and cafés, and its abundance of art galleries, museums and historical architecture. Paris is followed by a visit to the medieval city Bruges and to Brussels, the headquarters of the EU.

Berlin
and Prague -- In spring and fall, students take a second multiday excursion to the capital cities of Berlin and Prague. In Berlin, students explore the vast history of this recently reclaimed capital city. Prague, the gateway to Eastern Europe is a Bohemian city of architectural marvels; styles like classicism and art nouveau are visible in abundance and ancient landmarks of the Czech Republic are well preserved.
