Sophia University
Since its foundation in 1913, Sophia University has been preparing generations of students to play an active role in Japanese society and in the world. More than fifty nationalities are represented in the student body and the teaching staff is made up of scholars from 20 countries. The curriculum is designed so that students may receive a solid foundation in one particular specialization as well as broad general education. Sophia’s tradition of academic excellence has its roots in the Jesuit educational ideal of placing importance on each individual student. Sophia offers two programs with courses taught in English: the undergraduate program in liberal arts and summer session program. All other program courses are instructed in Japanese.
