Program Description

 

ITESO offers strong academic programs, with many possibilities to participate in community projects, social, business, internships. Artistic workshops, courses and conferences are an important part of ITESO’s educational mission. Literature, sculpture and dance share the stage with cinema, rock music and performance art. World famous painters, singers, writers and musicians have been invited to our auditoriums to stimulate the sensitivity of students and the public at large.

 

ITESO students can sign up for workshops in creative writing, theater, modern dance, jazz, singing, visual arts and carpentry. They can take courses in Arab dance, art history and photography, or perform in the chorus or chamber ensemble. These possibilities are complemented by lectures and different kind of support for student projects, exhibition space, cultural tours, film cycles, stage performances, concerts, exhibitions and other artistic events.

 

During your exchange term you can play soccer, baseball, volleyball or tennis, both indoor and outdoor. Excursions are also organized where students can test their skills at scuba diving, rafting, rock climbing and rappel. Those wishing to practice martial arts can choose from tae kwon do, kung fu, capoeira and kickboxing. And for staying in shape, there is a gym with weight lifting equipment, as well as aerobics, tai chi, spinning, zumba, pilates and yoga classes. All of the activities are organized with the support of nutritionists, doctors and psychologists specializing in sports medicine. You can also have access to psychological help in case you need support during your time at ITESO.

 

Location

 

Guadalajara is the second largest city in Mexico with 5 million habitants located in the Midwest of Mexico. It has a very traditional society, many historical sites and a lot of cultural activities such as concerts, theatre, art exhibits, zoo, museums as well as markets and malls. It is near colonial cities, beaches resorts, mountain towns, arqueological sites. Guadalajara is known for its nice weather and as the silicon valley of Mexico.
