Program Description
The Asian Studies Program strives to teach students about all the elements of Japanese life: language, cultural values, business structures and practices, political institutions, arts, literature and history. The learning process is not only formal and academic; students will also have the opportunity to experience Japanese daily life which will allow them to create a new platform for understanding matters regarding Japan and Asia.
Location
Kansai Gaidai is located in the city of Hirakata in Osaka prefecture. Osaka is within a one-hour train ride to the ancient capitals of Kyoto and Nara. Osaka has been a major center of commerce since the 18th century and remains today an expanding hub of business and industry. In addition to the business aspect, Osaka is a center for pop culture and never ceases to generate a variety of new and unique trends that expand dimensions of the Japanese urban experience.
