Exchange Semester
“I think we have a tendency to get stuck in our ordinary comfort zones. Being an exchange student broke that comfort bubble, immersing me in a new language and a new culture with completely new people. It was an incredible semester and I would tell anyone interested that the adventure is more than worth the risk!”

Exchange programs allow LMU students to spend a semester studying at carefully selected institutions of higher learning in a variety of locations around the world. Reciprocally, students from those institutions may attend LMU for a semester. You will live and study with students from the host country and international students. An exchange program is an exceptional opportunity to enhance your college experience and become fully immersed in another culture.
Academically, you will be challenged by learning a new language, if you choose, or exploring an array of unique course offerings that will count as credit toward your LMU degree.
LMU exchange programs are best suited for proactive, flexible, independent and adventurous students. One of the best – and most challenging – aspects about an exchange is that you may be the only student representing LMU that semester. A local staff person will assist you during your time abroad, but you will be responsible for many things on your own.
While you are on the LMU exchange program, you will continue to pay LMU tuition and keep your financial aid package, including any grants and scholarships already awarded. Housing costs can vary.
