Casa Bayanihan
Casa Bayanihan is one of University of San Francisco’s newest study abroad programs in Asia. This semester long program offers an opportunity for a student to immerse her/himself in the social, economic, political, and environmental realities of the Philippines. The program is rooted in four pillars: accompaniment, academics, community, and spirituality. Beginning with sustained accompaniment of the poor, Casa Bayanihan integrates praxis experience into rigorous academic reflection. Instructors and advisors then support this reflection through a carefully structured web of spiritual and communal support. Together, these experiences facilitate the transformation needed to develop a “well-educated solidarity.”
