El Salvador: San Salvador

Program Description
Casa de la Solidaridad draws mainly from students attending Jesuit colleges and universities, but is open to all undergraduates. The program is designed for students who wish to immerse themselves in the “classroom” of El Salvador. Dedicated to fostering “men and women for others,” Casa is a unique living and learning environment where students develop their intellectual potential, strengthen ethical and religious values, and learn to become socially responsible global citizens.
The mission of Casa is the promotion of justice and solidarity through the creation of a meaningful academic experience where students can integrate rigorous academic study with direct immersion with the poor of El Salvador. The program draws inspiration from the six Jesuits and two women who were murdered at the University of Central America on Nov. 16, 1989, and from all the people of El Salvador who suffered during the civil war, especially those who were killed in their struggle for solidarity and social justice.
Location
Casa de la Solidaridad is in the city of San Salvador. It is an opportunity for you to immerse yourself in la realidad of El Salvador on many levels, from visiting Salvadoran communities on the weekend, to hanging out with peers at the University of Central America.
