Department of Chicana/o Studies
The academic field of Chicana/o Studies, developed at LMU over thirty years ago, examines and investigates the lives, histories, and cultures of Mexican-origin people living in the United States. The department's academic strengths lie in history, anthropology, political science, and literature, as well as in feminist, cultural, and media studies. The department publishes a quarterly journal for Chicana women activism and social change.
