Be a Tutor

What is a peer tutor?

Peer tutors are undergraduate and graduate students who provide academic support to students one-on-one or in small groups. See the Tutor Job Description for all qualifications, duties, and responsibilities of an LRC tutor.


What are the benefits of being a tutor?

         Develop your communication, study, and problem solving skills
         Enhance your knowledge of course content

         Schedule work hours around your classes

Is there any training required?

Tutors are required to attend 12-15 hours of training during the fall semester and 2-3 hours of training/meetings in spring semester.  Tutors are paid for all training and meetings.

How do I apply?

Complete the application and return it to the LRC. We hire new tutors once a year for fall semester.
