Computer Loan Lottery
Full-time, regular staff members at the LMU Westchester campus and the Law School are eligible for two-year, no-interest loans up to $2,200 to purchase a computer system (a laptop or a desktop) and any related software or peripherals purchased together as part of a system. These loans may be used for personal and professional use and growth in computer literacy. There are a limited number of loans available each year, so a lottery will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at noon. The location of the drawing will be at the main entrance of University Hall, located on the first floor, near the corner coffee shop. Everyone is welcome to attend, but you do not need to be present to win.
What is it?
It is a two-year, no-interest loan up to $2,200 to purchase a computer system (a laptop or a desktop) and any related software or peripherals purchased together as part of a system. Repayments of the loan will be made through automatic bi-weekly payroll deductions in 52 equal payments.
Who is eligible?
To qualify to enter the drawing, a staff member must meet all three requirements.
- Continuous Service : Full-time, regular staff members at the LMU Westchester campus and the Law School with at least two years of LMU continuous service as of December 31, 2012; and
- No Outstanding Loan : Currently do not have an unpaid computer loan balance with the University; and
- 20-Month Loan Free : If a previous loan has been issued, you must be loan free for at least 20 months from the pay-off date, which means the previous loan must have been paid off no later than April 30, 2011.

When is the deadline to enter my name?
The lottery entry period starts at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, November 19, 2012 and ends at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 10, 2012. All online entries must be submitted and paper entries must be delivered before the deadline.
When will the drawing take place?
The drawing will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at noon, at the main entrance of University Hall, located on the first floor near the corner coffee shop. Everyone is welcome to attend. Winners need not be present. A list of winners and wait-list alternates will be announced on MYLMU. An attempt will be made to inform the winners by e-mail, phone, or in-person.
How does it work?
Each staff member receives an e-mail with a link to the online entry form. Eligible staff must enter the lottery by 5:00 pm on or before Monday, December 10, 2012 to have a chance to win. Online or paper entry forms received after the deadline will not be entered into the lottery. Only one entry per eligible staff member will be accepted. The computer purchase can be made from the vendors of your choice. You may submit quotes from your vendors on their invoice or letterhead to start the loan process. Original sales receipt or e-mail receipt is required to complete the loan paperwork. LMU Information Technology and Law School Information Technology Department do not sell computers nor do they provide technical supports to individuals who purchased computers under this program.
