LMU has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) as the agent for verification of LMU student enrollment and degrees. The NSC is the nationally recognized source for student verifications; these verifications are accepted by companies and organizations as official. All requests for LMU enrollment certification or degree verification are processed at NSC (international students see below).

LMU enrollment data is reported to the NSC approximately one week after the close of the registration period and is updated monthly throughout the semester. LMU degree postings are reported to the NSC three times a year: mid-February for December degrees; mid-July for May degrees; and mid-October for August degrees. The date of the last update is visible.

A student may now refer Employers or other Verification Agencies directly to the NSC where they can request either Enrollment or Degree verifications, but not transcripts. It is no longer necessary for the student to request and submit the forms. The NSC self-service option is also meant for those entities requesting verifications about students.

Currently Enrolled Students*

  • Enrollment Verification
    • A student may use this free verification process directly in PROWL (Student Services > Student Records > Enrollment Verification). After entering data, the student is re-directed to the NSC site where Verification of Enrollment may be printed. The Verifications are printed with the NSC letterhead and logo and are the official documents from LMU for verifying enrollments.
  • Degree Verification
    • A student may use the free transcript process in PROWL (Student Services > Student Records > Request Official Transcript).

Alumni/former students with first enrollment in Fall 1988 or later*
  • Enrollment Verification
    • A student may use this free verification process directly in PROWL (Student Services > Student Records > Enrollment Verification). The PROWL account may be reset if needed.
The PROWL account may be reset if needed.

Alumni and students with enrollments PRIOR to Fall 1988 and students who have coursework both before and after Fall 1988*
  • These students may go directly to the NSC website and request transcripts. Students will be notified via email that the request has been processed. These students will not be able to request enrollment verification or degree verification as both are reported on the transcript.

International students*

  • If a student possesses an American Social Security Number (SSN), it should be used to complete the request as above. Those who do not possess an American SSN may contact the Office of the Registrar and the request will be handled by LMU personnel.

* Please note:

The NSL automatically updates enrollment data to lenders.

  • If a lender sends a deferment form and insists the form be completed, the student first completes the request on the NSC site and then writes the order number on the deferment form, signs it if required and sends the form via mail, fax or scan to the Office of the Registrar. The Office of the Registrar completes the form as required and sends it back to the NSC where it is attached to the student verification. The NSC then forwards both documents to the requestor.
  • CaGPA verifications for Cal Grants are processed electronically by the University through the Financial Aid Office.
  • Verification of good-student discounts for insurance companies are completed by the Office of the Registrar. Students may send the form via mail, fax or scan to the Office of the Registrar.

Questions or issues which need office intervention may be submitted HERE. The Office of the Registrar attempts to meet the needs of students within five (5) working days of the submission to this office.
