University Core Requirements

The Bachelor of Arts degree for elementary and secondary teacher preparation follows a University Core pattern that may be specific for some majors.  Please use this link to access the core requirements for each of the teacher preparation degrees.

American Cultures Studies (3 semester hours)

Communication or Critical Thinking (3 semester hours)

Critical and Creative Arts (6 semester hours)
Saddleback College students choose one course from each category. Students may not choose courses in the department of their major:

Students are required to take PHIL 160: Philosophy of Human Nature at LMU and 3 semester hours of upper division philosophy to fulfill the core requirement.
