Curriculum for the Bachelor of Arts in History

University Core Requirements
Please consult the University Core requirements for additional courses as required by the Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts.

Lower Division Major Requirements
Students are required to complete 2 western civilization courses, 2 U.S. history courses and 1 course in contemporary societies, choose one particular area of the world to study.



Western Civilization requirement
Students take the following courses:

U.S. History requirement

Contemporary Societies requirement

HIST 172: Modern Latin America

HIST 192: Contemporary Africa
Take the following course:
HIST 28: Latin America: Nationhood to Contemporary Latin America

Students may also fulfill this requirement by choosing to study the contemporary society of another area of the world at LMU.
