Curriculum for the Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts, Art Education emphasis

University Core Requirements
The Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art, Art Education emphasis follows a University Core pattern that is specific to this major.  Students following this major curriculum should use this link to view the Core requirements.

Lower Division Major Requirements
Students are required to take 8 courses in Art and Art History as well as 1 foundation course in a specific studio arts focus area.

*Completion of either of these courses fulfills the University Core requirement in Critical Arts.
**Completion of this course fulfills the University Core requirement in Creative Arts.



Studio Arts Foundation requirement
Students choose one of the following studio arts focus area courses :

ART 285: Introduction to Printmaking
Choose one focus area course:

(both courses are required and count as one choice)

ART 147: Beginning Ceramics
• ART 170: Fundamentals of Photography I
