Curriculum for the Bachelor of Arts in History

University Core requirements
Please consult the University Core requirements for additional courses as required by the Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts.

Lower Division Major Requirements
Students are required to complete 2 western civilization courses, 2 U.S. history courses and 1 course in contemporary societies, choosing one particular area of the world to study.

Western Civilization Requirement:
Students take the following courses.
LMU COURSE MARYMOUNT COLLEGE COURSE                                                          
HIST 100: Western Traditions to 1500
AND
HIST 101: Western Traditions Since 1500
HIS 100: Western Traditions I
+
HIS 101: Western Traditions II
(both courses are required)
OR
HIS 101H: Survey of Western Traditions, Honors

U.S. History Requirement:
Students take the following courses.
