This requirement is met by the curriculum of the major in the College of Science and Engineering.

Philosophy (6 semester units)
Students are required to take PHIL 160: Philosophy of Human Nature at LMU and 3 semester hours of upper division philosophy to fulfill the core requirement. L. A. Pierce College students fulfill the lower division (PHIL 160) requirement at LMU.

Social Sciences (6 semester hours)
L. A. Pierce College students choose one of the following 3 options:

*Students of the Bachelor of Science in Natural Science, Secondary Science Education in Biology or Chemistry should take POL SCI 1 to satisfy the U.S. Constitution requirement for the preliminary teaching credential.
