A Leave of Absence is a temporary break in a current student's enrollment at LMU. A leave of absence may be from a single semester or may extend for up to two years. In order for a Leave of Absence to be granted, the student must withdraw (using PROWL) from all courses in a term prior to the last day to withdraw as published in the Schedule of Classes and University Bulletin. The student will then receive grades of W in each dropped course. A student may not take a Leave from the term if application is made after the stated deadline for withdrawal from classes. A student who stops attendance after the deadline to withdraw from classes will receive a grade assigned by the instructor and may include a grade of F in each course.
To take a Leave of Absence or Withdrawal from the semester please complete and submit the following online form to the Office of the Registrar for processing.
Entering students considering a Leave of Absence or Withdrawal prior to attending courses should contact Undergraduate Admission or Graduate Admissions. Please do not fill out the form below. Be sure to check deadlines as posted on the Academic Calendar. Contact registrar@lmu.edu for assistance.
