What if my name changes or my diploma address changes after I apply for my degree?

What is the process for awarding degrees?
After all academic work is reviewed in conjunction with the Deans' Offices, the Office of the Registrar awards or cancels degree applications of students who applied. It may take up to four weeks before your degree is posted.
How can my degree be cancelled?
Remember that the student is fully responsible for completing all
graduation requirements prior to the date in which the degree would be given. If the student did not meet all the requirements, the application for degree is cancelled. A student must then reapply for a later term.
If my degree is cancelled, do I need to reapply?
Yes, it is the responsibility of the student to submit a new
Application for Degree for a later term if a degree was cancelled for a given term.
What degree date is posted on my transcript and diploma?
The date of the degree is the one on which all graduation requirements are completed or documents are submitted. Degree dates are the respective Commencement Weekend dates, August 31, or December 31.
When can I expect to receive my diploma?
Eight weeks after the degree has posted, at the address provided on the Application for Degree.
If I have a Controller's Hold, when will I get my diploma?
These diplomas are processed after the hold is released by Student Financial Services. The student should then contact the Office of the Registrar to report the removal of the hold
here.
Can I order a duplicate diploma?
Yes, by completing a
Request for Duplicate Diploma.
