Family Involvement
Family is respected as the most important teacher in a child’s life. Therefore, communication, cooperation with families, and meeting children’s individual needs are of utmost importance to us. The early childhood professionals at the Center serve as an integral part of each child’s family. We believe that parent involvement begins in the classroom through established relationships between teachers and parents. We encourage parents to share their family traditions, special skills or provide hands-on assistance in building and maintaining the community of the LMUCC. Parents are asked to participate in classroom and Center activities, parent/teacher conferences, parent meetings and fundraising events. In addition, parents are provided the opportunity to give their feedback through Center evaluations or communication with the Loyola Marymount University Children’s Center Advisory Board.
