The Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) at Loyola Marymount University oversees and coordinates the faculty promotion and tenure process, prepares faculty contracts, organizes the faculty sabbatical process, and assists with Chair and Director appointments. The OFA organizes and supports faculty development programs including special events and services to recognize faculty accomplishments while coordinating activities that build community among faculty and enhance their capacity to be successful teacher-scholars. It:
organizes the New Faculty Orientation programs, Friday Faculty Colloquia series, and recognition events for faculty service and retirement
- coordinates the Rains Research Assistants program, the Mentoring Assistant Professors (MAP) Program, the Mentoring for Mission program, and an Internal Grants Program including
grants in Academic Technology, Faith & Justice Research and Curriculum Development, and Transformation of Upper Division Courses in the Major
- provides annual professional development programs for department chairs
- collaborates with the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE), the Faculty Senate, the Associate Deans Council, and the Deans’ Offices of the six schools or colleges on the main campus.
The Associate Provost reports to the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and is supported by Faculty Affairs Associate Shannon Pascual and Administrative Assistant Andy O’Reilly.
