Spiritual Formation
Through the ministries of Spiritual Formation we seek to be true to the mission of Jesus as expressed in our mission statement. Spiritual Formation, in the tradition of Ignatian Spirituality, works toward the integration of learning, the care and education of the whole person and the service of faith.
We welcome students of all faiths. By honoring the dignity and uniqueness of each person and the sacredness of each one’s journey, we invite students into healthy living, into wholeness and holiness, into being their best selves. In this way, Loyola Marymount can help to shape individuals with character and compassion who serve and lead our complex world.
About Ignatian Spirituality For Ignatius of Loyola, our human journey originates in eternity, in the mystery of God. This fundamental truth of human life permeates much of what occurs at Loyola Marymount. This truth lifts up the ideal that God has always cared for a woman or a man, even when God’s love may be forgotten.
Christian Life Communities (Small Group Formation)Each CLC group consists of 5-10 members who meet once a week for prayer, reflection, and sharing. We, belonging to the international organization of World Christian Life Communities, support each other on our unique faith journeys and seek God's presence and action in our lives by embodying the charism of St. Ignatius of Loyola.
Spiritual Direction (Individual Formation)Spiritual Direction focuses on the person’s deepening relationship with the Sacred; a unique service, which is a vital part of one's spiritual formation. The focus is not on projects, activities and numbers of students. The emphasis is on one-to-one contact.
