Interfaith Ministries
Interfaith Ministries welcomes students, faculty, and staff of differing religious denominations and spiritual beliefs. We seek to create a vibrant community of individuals desiring to grow in their individual faith journeys and learn from the diverse faith experiences of others.
In accordance with the university mission to encourage learning, educating the whole person, and the service of faith and the promotion of justice, we serve to meet the spiritual needs to the LMU Community and promote religious understanding. In partnership with the LMU Jewish Community, Catholic and various Protestant denominations, we seek to encounter God’s presence through prayer, fellowship and worship services, and spiritual direction.
LMU Interfaith Council
The Interfaith Council (IC) began in the Fall of 2009, and is comprise of our student leaders and representatives of all our faith/spirituality based clubs, organizations and Campus Ministry sponsored bible studies. At the beginning of every meeting there is an open forum for students, faculty and staff to come and share concerns, speaker/program ideas, events that this group should be aware of, etc. – anything and everything relating to faith-based matters. The IC is made up of representatives from Higher Learning, The Station, Revolution, Late Night, eXaLT, Christian Life Community, Passion Magazine, the Human Rights Coalition, Taize Prayer, Hillel and more.
Educational OpportunitiesClasses, academic programs and research institutes on campus offer opportunities to learn about, and dialog with all the various traditions that comprise our university community.
Worship in Los AngelesThe communities of Los Angeles are rich in religious and cultural diversity. Those seeking worship experiences outside of the university, are encouraged to explore the vast opportunities that our particular Los Angeles-locality has to offer.
