El Salvador (Spring Break Trip)
Faith of the Martyrs & Current Communities of Faith
February 24 - March 4, 2012
This Spring of 2012, join us for a transformational trip of solidarity to El Salvador. We will learn about the legacy of the Christian martyrs of El Salvador (esp. the Jesuit Martyrs and their companions), be inspired by the deep faith of El Salvadorans today, and explore the intersections of faith and justice in evening group Ignatian reflections.
A unique component of this year's immersion experience will be a two-night stay with host families on the rural Island of Espiritu Santo. We will learn firsthand about the economic and health issues facing the residents of this small coconut cooperative while exploring the complexities of global health through the lens of water quality by working collaboratively with the community on an important water project at the local primary school. We will also explore the complexities of systemic poverty and small business development by working together with a local women's cooperative group.
Student Cost for El Salvador IC Trip: $995 (IC Student Leaders receive a 50% reduction in cost)

Trip costs are subsidized through Campus Ministry. All costs include airfare and/or ground transportation, room and board, service projects, and cultural immersion experiences.
