Graduate & Professional Students

Graduate study and research is a vital component of Loyola Marymount's mission.  Though graduate and professional students may be, individually, in different places in their lives during their tenure here, the university nonetheless works to offer faith and justice related opportunities that all of our masters, law and doctoral students can connect with and participate in.

Most of our Campus Ministers and Resident Ministers are available to support spiritual formation for our graduate and professional students.  Graduate students in the Colleges of Liberal Arts, Science and Engineering, Business Administration, Communication and Fine Arts, and the Schools of Education, and Film and Television are invited to contact Joanna Carroll, C.S.J.  Graduate students in the Law School program are invited to contact Kenneth Rudnick, S.J.  Small group faith formation opportunities are available through Christian Life Communities for Graduate Students.  Group leadership opportunities are also available and encouraged.  Please contact Manh Tran, S.J., in regard to gradate Christian Life Communities.

Opportunities for spiritual development are also available to graduate students residing in the Graduate Housing on the Westchester campus.  We encourage you to contact Dino Entac, Resident Minister for Hannon Apartments (Graduate Housing).

Many styles of retreats are offered to appeal to the diverse spiritualities of our graduate and professional student population.  Loyola Marymount offers retreats that provide graduate students with the opportunity to explore and deepen their faith in a variety of ways.  In addition, we encourage graduate students who attend retreats to further deepen and enhance their faith through their participation as retreat leaders, with active roles in planning and leading retreat.

By involving graduate and professional students in every aspect of liturgical ministry, we have created an opportunity for them to understand and shape the sacred liturgies of the university.  We encourage you to participate as a musician, Eucharistic minister, lector, acolyte and/or sacristan.  MFA students wishing to perfect their craft and possibly publish are invited to become involved in the Video Ministry program.
