LOYOLA MARYMOUNT UNIVERSITY'S NINTH ANNUAL 5K/10K RUN FOR
THE BAY
TO BE HELD APRIL 24
TO BENEFIT HEAL THE BAY
- Loyola Marymount University's
Center for Business Ethics will host its Run for the Bay, an annual
5K/10K marathon, on Saturday, April 24 at 8:30 a.m. The marathon is
run entirely on the LMU campus in Westchester, with prizes for the
top three male and female participants.
- Proceeds benefit Heal the Bay, an
organization founded in 1985 to fight for a "fishable and
swimmable" Santa Monica Bay.
- Michael Payne, host and interior
designer of HGTV's "Designing for the Sexes" is this year's
celebrity runner. Payne is a veteran runner who has run both the
Los Angeles and Boston Marathons, among others.
- In 2003, 569 runners and walkers
participated in the program, which was sponsored by
Hewlett-Packard, Northrup Grumman, Southwest Airlines, Sparkletts
Water, Albertsons, and others. As a result of their generosity, the
LMU Run for the Bay was able to donate $5,000 to Heal the Bay last
year, bringing its total contributions to $18,000.

more information, please visit www.runforthebay.org or contact
