The scope of her talk is inclusive and comparative with subjects that range from contemporary models of female power to the model of female heroism exemplified by the figure of the Virgin Mother of Christ; from the construction of the tragicomic female hero in Shakespeare's last plays, to the formation of the female political icon, the Virgin Queen, Elizabeth I, to the model of female heroism imbedded in the mission of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary.

The presentation will be followed by a reception.

Questions? Answers.

Fr. Ryan, SJ

For more than a year, Fr. Herb Ryan, Professor Emeritus of Theological Studies at LMU, has been sending email replies to theological or religious questions submitted by faculty and staff.

Ask Fr. Herbie is the name of this service offered through Fr. Ryan's association with the Center for Ignatian Spirituality. Fr. Ryan has a great facility for providing carefully considered pastoral answers to questions that faculty and staff send to him, questions that might not seem appropriate in a group or conversational setting, but questions of personal significance that have to do with religion and theology. A written question, submitted by email, allows time for a thoughtful response. Please contact Fr. Ryan at hryan@lmu.edu.
