Directories

Directories - minimal information, but a good place to start.

National:

  • Directory of Corporate Affiliations.  REF HG 4057 .A217
    This is the best directory to start with if you do not know if your company is private, public, international or a subsidiary of another company.
  • America's Corporate Families: the Billion Dollar Directory.  REF HG 4057 .A147
    This source lists more parent companies but fewer subsidiaries than the title above.

  • Thomas Register of American Manufacturers and Thomas Register Catalog File.  REF T 12 .76

Handbooks

Handbooks are similar to directories, but provide more information on fewer companies - generally large companies or companies that meet certain criteria.

Journal Articles

The Charles Von der Ahe Library provides access to Business articles via print and online subscriptions (see Databases). Indexes may be online, on CD-ROM, or in paper format. If you are off campus, please read Connect to LMU's library databases from off campus.  Business majors can benefit from several excellent indexes, including the following:

Check Other Libraries to see if the University of California, California State University, or U.S.C. libraries have those journals that LMU doesn't hold in paper, microfilm, or online.
