Director, First Year Experience

Jennifer Belichesky-Larson is an alum of California State University at Northridge, Loyola Marymount University and University of California at Los Angeles. She received her B.A. in English Literature from CSUN in 2000. She then went on to LMU where she received a Master’s Degree with a double emphasis in English Literature and Rhetoric in ‘03. After LMU, she pursued second Master’s Degree in Higher Education and Organizational Change at UCLA. Jennifer started working at LMU in the Fall of 2002, first as a Teaching Fellow, then as an Adjunct English Professor, and now as the Director of First Year Experience. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, and dreams of becoming the world’s next Scrabble champion!

Program Coordinator, First Year Experience 

Christina Thelin grew up on the Central Coast of California. In December of 2007, she graduated with her Masters in Education Leadership from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Christina received her Bachelors of Arts in Sociology and Global Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2004. Christina was hired as Program Coordinator in January of 2008. She thoroughly enjoys working with the first year students and is excited about helping them find their place at LMU. In her spare time she works out, shops, hangs out with her friends and fiancé, and plans her wedding-she’s getting married in August of 2008.

Program Coordinator, Parent Programs

Mary Plumb, a native of upstate New York, holds a BS in Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University. She has worked as a Process Engineer in both Transducer Product and Military Electronic Systems Operations at General Electric in Syracuse, NY. From 1990 – 93 she served as the Director of Women’s Engineering Programs at the University Of Kansas. In 1999, after moving to Binghamton, NY with her family, she began work with the DOE funded program GEAR UP through the Binghamton University Research Foundation. Mary started at LMU in October 2006 and moved to Parent Programs in July of 2007. She is married and has 3 children. In her spare time she enjoys baking and cooking, gardening, crafts, sewing and traveling.

Administrative Assistant, First Year Experience

Hello, I am Pablo Benitez, proud LMU Class of 2007 graduate. I was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles and came to LMU where I studied Psychology and graduate with a Sociology Degree. While at LMU, I was in the Student Worker program throughout my undergraduate years. Ultimately I became the General of the Student Workers my senior year. I was also fortunate to involve myself in Special Games, Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, CORE Team, and The Loyola Rugby Club Team. Currently in the office of First Year Experience as their Administrative Assistant while being a full time Graduate student here at LMU for the School Counseling Program. I roar as a proud Lion Alumni today because of the challenges and experiences that Loyola Marymount University gave me!
