Dr. Massa has experience as both a researcher and Assistant Professor in Cognitive Psychology, specializing in assessment and improving student learning outcomes.  She completed her undergraduate studies at the Dominican College of San Rafael before pursuing a Master of Arts at California State University, Sacramento, and finally her Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology with an interdisciplinary emphasis in quantitative methods in the social sciences at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

As Director of Assessment at Loyola Marymount University, 
Dr. Massa will guide the development and implementation of a University assessment plan, conduct educational workshops on assessment topics, and provide advice and support to academic departments in the development and maintenance of effective assessment activities.
