For Parents
Dear Parent or Guardian,
On behalf of the Student Psychological Services (SPS) team, I welcome you to our website. Please take a moment to explore our site and familiarize yourself with our counseling services.
Students sometimes experience difficulties which complicate and undermine success in their academic and personal lives. These challenges might include low self-esteem, procrastination, interpersonal conflicts, stress, anxiety, depression, issues in eating and body image, alcohol or substance concerns, identity issues, bereavement/loss, as well as problems with adjustment to college life.
SPS’s dedicated staff provides a variety of services to help students better understand and cope with their situations, achieve more satisfying relationships, improve academic performance, set personal goals and make effective and satisfying life choices.
Parents/guardians are often challenged with their student’s transitioning issues. The following are often helpful parent links: LMU Parent Pride and First Year Experience.
Please feel free to contact us with questions and concerns. We are proud to be part of your student’s successful college experience. Go Lions!
