On Nov. 6, 2008, CE4R hosted a special presentation entitled "The Latino Education Crisis:  Why it matters to everyone",  featuring guest speaker Dr. Patricia Gándara. We want to thank all attendees and a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Gándara for presenting such a thought provoking session.

Fourth and fifth grade students from Lennox School District visited the LMU campus on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008 to interview teacher candidates in Professor Olga Moraga's EDUC 425 Methods Course.  Pictures and published student articles will be available soon.

CE4R is the first to provide educators the opportunity to earn a Certificate in Leadership in Biliteracy for English Learners through LMU Extension.   Our first annual certificate ceremony was held on Sunday, June 1, 2008 in honor of 17 certificate graduates!  Congratulations to  Milagros Ballester, Miriam Blum, Yadira Downing, Marina Estupinan, Maribel Simental-Gladin, Aurora Guzman, Violeta Hernandez, Sandra Hernandez Murillo, Carolina Huerta, Mercedes Jackson, Ana Lepe, Esther Negrete, Acela Ojeda, Arlene Quintana-Rangel, Liliana Ramirez, Luzelena Rosales, Jennifer Tapia.
