Teresa Hackett, administrative assistant in the Bellarmine
College of Liberal Arts’ History Department, has been named the
inaugural recipient of the College Staff Award.
Created
this year by Dean Michael Engh, S.J., the award is meant to recognize
outstanding performance by a staff member in support of the college’s
mission. “It recognizes someone with a well-deserved reputation for
sustained excellence in providing administrative or technical
supportive service,” Engh said. “Someone who has consistently
approached responsibilities in ways that demonstrate professionalism
and a dedication to the welfare of faculty and students.”
To
be eligible for the $2,500 award, staff must have been at LMU for at
least five years, Engh said, adding that in future years will seek
nominations from the college’s academic departments.
