Saeri Cho joins the Art Department as an Assistant Professor. Focusing on semantic analysis and fundamental issues of motion typography, she earned an M.F.A. in Media Design from Art Center College of Design. Her thesis entitled, “Understanding Typography in Motion: Type has Two Faces,” explored the role of typography in motion graphics and developed a philosophy for teaching motion typography at the college level. Saeri also holds a B.F.A. in Communication Design from Parsons School of Design in New York . Her work both in print and new media encompasses multiple disciplines and focuses on design research and narrative structures. She has a strong interest in creating experimental images with types. Prior to LMU, she taught visual communication courses at NanYang Technological University in Singapore .
