Alfred J. Kilp, SJ ’30 Scholarship and Sr. Raymunde McKay, RSHM Scholarship
The Alumni Association provides annual scholarships to undergraduate students who are children and grandchildren of alumni of Loyola University, Marymount College or Loyola Marymount University. The direct descendants of alumni are very important to the University and the Alumni Association. These scholarships are named in honor of two outstanding individuals: Alfred J. Kilp, SJ '30 was a loved Jesuit priest and alumnus who devoted most of his adult life in service to the University. Sr. Raymunde McKay, RSHM is the former president of Marymount College. Both scholarships are awarded annually to applicants showing exemplary personal character, involvement in school, religious activities, academic achievement, and leadership in school and the community. The McKay Scholarship is based on financial need while the Kilp Scholarship reviews financial need but it is not an overriding factor. Financial need is assessed by the LMU Financial Aid Office. All applicants must have a completed financial aid application on file with the LMU Financial Aid Office to be eligible for these scholarships. All awards range from $1000-$2,000 per recipient.
The application process began March 3 and will end April 4, 2008. Late applications will not be accepted. For more information, please contact the Alumni Association at 310.338.3065 or

African American Alumni Association Scholarship Fund
The African American Alumni Association Scholarship Fund was established in 2003 to provide financial assistance to deserving African American students attending Loyola Marymount University. Since its inception the scholarship fund has raised over $60,000.00; much of which has come from individual donors and alumni gifts.
Scholarships are awarded to select students who have completed the scholarship application process, and who meet the criteria of having an unmet financial need, participate and demonstrate leadership through their service to the LMU community and in their extra-curricular activities. Scholarship recipients are acknowledged annually in February at the AAAASF event during Black History Month. The event also recognizes the accomplishments of a distinguished alumnus.
This fund promotes and fosters a collegial relationship between students, alumni and friends. With your contribution and collaboration we can continue to encourage and help our exceptional students succeed at LMU and beyond.

Mexican American Alumni Association Scholarship
More than two decades ago, a group of visionary alumni formed the Mexican American Alumni Association (MAAA) to provide scholarships to undergraduate LMU Latino/Latina students who demonstrate high academic achievement, an unmet financial need, and service to the community. The MAAA scholarship upholds two key elements of LMU’s mission—a commitment to diversity and service to others. The university fosters a community that is welcoming to people of all faiths and cultures and promotes the understanding that this type of environment helps students to become conscious leaders, critical thinkers, and prepares them for participation in a diverse society. This concept also allows students to practice—with each other and to the world—the social justice values that are central to a Loyola Marymount University education. Therefore, it is vital that LMU continues the tradition of providing additional financial aid to today’s diverse students who become tomorrow’s leaders, working to help shape the Latino community. As an educational leader in southern California and the nation, LMU embraces the opportunity to prepare students who will positively contribute to a diverse global society.
