International Student Orientation & iMentor Program

International Student Orientation
This orientation program is MANDATORY for all international students studying in the U.S. for the first time, and will take place prior to the start of the Fall, 2008 semester. (Dates to be confirmed soon)

The program is designed to assist the new members of our international community with their adjustment to life not only at Loyola Marymount University, but also to life in Los Angeles, and the United States.

Components of the orientation program will include a tour of campus resources, placement testing, immigration rights and responsibilities, cross-cultural communication, and American classroom culture, as well as plenty of opportunities for social interaction and off-campus excursions including an optional day at Disneyland.

iMentor Program
The iMentors, who are current LMU students, serve as academic and social resources at LMU, as well as act as a general resource for Los Angeles and the US.  In return, iMentees will share their unique and cultural experiences with the iMentors. The educational and cultural exchange will continue for the duration of one semester, at minimum.   All new international students will be paired up with an iMentor.  You will receive your iMentor paperwork once you pay your commitment deposit.
