CTE Presentation - ARTstor

 Wednesday, November 14, 2007
12:00 – 1:00pm
The Center for Teaching Excellence
University Hall 3030

Presented by Megan Marler, ARTstor
Jamie Hazlitt, Von der Ahe Library

Did you know that over half a million high quality digital images are currently available to LMU in a searchable database?

ARTstor is a digital library containing nearly 550,000 images in the areas of art, architecture, humanities and social sciences. Thousands of additional images are added each month covering a wide range of cultures and time periods.

You might be familiar with ARTstor as a resource for art images, but it’s also a wonderful resource for interdisciplinary image research. Megan Marler, a representative from ARTstor, will provide an introduction to using ARTstor as a research tool across academic disciplines. Jamie Hazlitt, a reference librarian at LMU, will follow up with additional information for conducting visual research at the Von der Ahe Library.

Lunch will be included, please RSVP to teachers@lmu.edu or Ext.85866
