Lions for Learning
About Us
Lions for Learning is an off-campus program provided by Loyola Marymount University aiming to increase the quality of learning for young minds. The program employs LMU undergraduate student tutors to assist with in-class and after school programs at a variety of elementary and middle schools in and around the Westchester area.
Lions for Learning provides LMU students with the opportunity to earn their Federal Work Study by tutoring K-5th Grade elementary students. Lions for Learning tutors are placed at the different school sites within the LMU neighborhood and are assigned in a classroom or an after school program, depending on the school's needs and resources.
We have established a great working relationship with many schools in and around the Westchester area. Currently we have students tutoring in:
Cowan Elementary
Kentwood Elementary
Loyola Village Elementary
Mar Vista Elementary
Moffet Elementary
Nativity Elementary
Orville Wright Middle School
Paseo Del Ray Elementary School
Westport Heights Elementary School
The Lions for Learning program operates out of Student Employment Services in Suite 1300 of University Hall at Loyola Marymount University.
