Mission Day 2008

The Service of Faith at LMU

mission day
This year’s Mission Day, on January 30, focused on The Service of Faith at LMU and attracted a broad cross section of faculty, staff, administrators, and students.

Margaret O’Brien Steinfels, co-director of the Center on Religion and Culture at Fordham University and distinguished former editor of Commonweal magazine, keynoted the program with an 11 a.m. address entitled “Service of Faith: What’s It All About?”

During the afternoon, concurrent panel discussions, featuring speakers from on and off campus, considered the
following topics: (1) “Service of Faith: How Does It Impact Academic Life?” (2) “Spiritual or Religious: Faith’s Role in Co-Curricular Life,” and (3) “Promotion of Justice and Service of Faith.” A final plenary session and gala reception concluded the Mission Day program.
